The first time this happened, I reinstalled Astroberry on the hard drive (SSD). The second time it
happened I was tearing down after night, and reassembling the next afternoon. This time the mount
stopped talking to Ekos.
I did an apt-get upgrade, which took a while. When I rebooted, it was OK. Has not been down now
for a couple weeks.

Hello,
I had Ekos/Indo working fine a couple nights ago after my new Celestron CGX showed up.
Could not plate solve that night, but that is another story...
The next night, camera would not work under Indi. No matter what profile I brought up, crashing and failed comm.
Mount and filter wheel never had a problem.
Tried many different things like changing ports, tried EVERY port of the 4-port USB3 hub, and even plugged into the USB 3
of the RPI4.
Changed cables. But, on every Ekos/Indi failure (with many reboots) Oa capture worked just fine with the cameras!
Traced down the ID numbers for the ZWO camera on the usb ports 03C3:1604, 03C3:120C those moved around when I changed usb ports.
Feel like it is NOT a usb or cable issue, since Oa capture keeps working...
Any way to uninstall just the Indi server and re-install?
ANy help woud be appreciated.

John,
I am finishing up my RPI4 control box, and will put my Nexstar 11 GPS on line soon. I am kinda in the same boat, hoping Ekos with Indie will
allow me to start some astrophotography. I have a ASI 1600 monochrome camera, filter wheel, and a mini for guiding.

Waiting in the wings is a 10" astrograph, but no mount yet.

Take care and good luck,
Glen

Never mind. It was because I did not start GPSD in the Indie control panel. Now, the Tallahassee FL is replaced with
GPS Location.

Hello,
I have the GPS module working, and gpsmon shows the correct time, lat and lon.
The RPI4 shows the correct Geographic Location and elevation under Preferences Geographic Location.
I have disabled the virtual gps.

I have checked the box in KStars which says: GPS updates KStars.

The lower left corner of the KStars screen still shows Tallahasse, FL, which is the closest large city to me.

I cannot find: GPS Panel anywhere.

How do I know KStars has the correct data? The time in the upper left is correct, but, I suppose, it could be getting that from the internet.

I feel dumb asking this question, but I cannot find the volume control on Astroberry with RPI4.
Also, there is no sound through the HDMI.
I put on headphones, and can barely hear any YouTube audio..

That is encouraging!
I wonder if Ekos would still do the thing of moving the mount 3 times 30 degrees for an Az/El???

Hello,

First post.

I am getting all my equipment running, and having success. I have the RPI4 talking to both cameras, and the filter wheel. I have NOT brought in
the Nexstar 11 yet. It is RS-232, and I have a USB adapter for it. I do not think the hardware interface should be a problem with Ekos.

Anyway, I am blown away with the idea that one does not need to do an actual polar alignment in Ekos.!

My question is: would this also work with an Az/El mount like the Nexstar??? Could I also plate solve with the Az/El mount?

I have a 10" astrograph as well, but no mount as of yet. I know field rotation and focal length are major issues with the Nexstar, but I would like to
try some 1-2 minute exposures here where the skies are pretty dark.

Take care,

Glen
