I'm about at my wit's end trying to get the mosaic tool to work. I've followed the sparse instructions here and I can't press the button! I've loaded a CCD sequence, chosen a target (without spaces in the name), disabled all the steps I don't need, and it should be ready to open, right? Well I can't press the button. It's greyed out and I can't open the tool at all.

I had to install GSC to make the CCD simulator work, and now I have stars and a solve, so the telescope simulator is pointed in the right direction, coordinates are solved, but it still won't let me open the tool. I'm about to throw this thing out the window.

I've been trying to work on a mosaic plan with simulators but Ekos won't let me open the mosaic tool at all. I've set up a CCD sequence and saved as a file, then loaded that sequence into the scheduler with an object name, proper coordinates and the simulator profile. But the mosaic tool button is greyed out and I can't click it. I can't find any documentation on the tool beyond this page .

I then found this forum thread that suggested I would need to solve a plate with the simulator first. I tried slewing the telescope simulator to NGC 7023 and solving, but the image shows me nothing. In the INDI control panel for the CCD simulator, the log shows

[ERROR] Got no stars, is gsc installed with appropriate environment variables set ??
which is not particularly helpful. So I install GSC and make sure it's called by ekos.

Now I get stars and a solve. But the mosaic planner still won't open for me.

I'm about ready to throw this thing out the window. Why can't I use the mosaic tool?
