I'm usually posting questions, queries and problems So I decided to post a success.
This is one of the first fully remote images taken from my observatory using Ekos and Indi.
Its an extragalactic nova in M31 which was discovered Jan 11. This image was taken on Jan 14th.
Image taken Jan 14th from Ballyhoura observatory.
Control via Ekos and Indi 100km from the observatory,
4 X 5min exposures, unfiltered. Celestron C11 at F7. Atik 383L+ camera.
Stacked in astroimagej.
More info on the nova here www.rochesterastronomy.org/novae.html
Very nice! But it seems the guiding wasn't very good as the stars are clearly elongated. Did you have it set to image only if guiding deviations are below 3" ?
Well spotted. I think it was my stacking... I was aligning slices based on WCS. I tried a different option to stack with 'image stabiliser' in astroimagej and its better. Some of the stars on the left edges have coma though, even I'm using a reducer/corrector its not perfect.
I haven't tried the option to set the deviation threshold. Will try next time.
Thanks,
Derek
