ASI camera "stuck" on 8-bit after making lunar video last night?

In my INDI panel, I can't change the Format back to 16-bit from 8-bit. I had used 8-bit to get higher frame rates for a lunar video I shot last night.

As you can see in the screen cap, streaming and video recording are off, but when I use the Controls tab to click "Raw 16 bit" the log reports "[ERROR] Cannot change format while streaming/recording. "

This is weird because the entire system has been powered off, indinightly was purged, and the "bleeding" ppa was installed following the release of 3.5.0.

So there should really be no trace of the old Indi_asi driver in there anymore.

Is there a config file I should erase to get control back for my camera?

I saw this exact problem too. The very latest versions in PPA are incompatible with each other. INDI was updated to 1.8.7, and many drivers built against previous one are incompatible with it now. ASI driver is among them. I built indi-asi from git and it works fine.

Take a look in the .indi directory in the home directory of the user using KStars. Note that that’s a hidden directory usually not visible in graphical file explorers. You’ll need to use a terminal and command line tools.
