I do not want it to diverge into dispute over authorship and license etc.
I have developed the driver in indi starting from the generic gps driver by jasem.
The history is public on github/sorceforge. I have had *no idea* about your driver
and have no doubt that yours was developed independently as was mine.
The driver is so simple that there is really no wonder they are mostly identical.
Most of the lines are derived from libindi/drivers/auxiliary/gps_simulator.{cpp,h}
Everyone can verify that by simply running diff on both files. So, technically, it is derivative work from the Jasem's code.
Let us not make it into some kind of in-house fight. I applaud your excellent work on astroberry!
I consider my gpsd driver to be essentially trivial. So let us merge the drivers and close this issue once and for all.

Peace,
P.

Fully agree. Let's cooperate and focus on the development and improvement of the code.
Feel free to add me to co-maintainers of the official version.
Let me know while the code is merged so I will remove it from PiFace so there's no more confusion about it.

Great! I was hoping for the response like this!
So we have a polish (?) maintainer team for the gpsd driver ;)
I will signal when the merge is finished.
Unfortunately this is not git so merge will be done by hand.
(How to persuade Jasem to move to gitlab or github is another important question - I hate working in svn with passion!)

Great to hear that! Indeed we're having the same origin ;)
The latest version is maintained on Git @ github.com/rkaczorek/astroberry-piface so you can use it right away.
The version at sourceforge will not be updated by me unless somebody requests it.

All the best Paweł

It is merged now. Please review it at this commit (branch nse of my mirror of upstream repo):

github.com/jochym/indilib/commit/478d65b...e7f0a73d56d05aa9ac11
I will wait for your opinion with final merge into upstream driver.

Astroberry GPS (rpi_gps) has been removed from PiFace repository after merge with mainstream GPSD (indi-gpsd) driver. From now on please use indi-gpsd driver.

Playing the part of a Noob here, sorry.

Trying to get Astroberry-piface loaded onto an old Raspberry Pi-B with Piface 1. Is Astroberry Piface compatable? Any hope?

Compiles but chokes linking. Focuser, can't find -lmcp23s17

Thanks

I have just reverted last commits which were statically linking to libmcp23s17 and libpifacecad. So get the latest sources and either install from binaries available in binaries directory or go for full recompilation procedure.
The driver should work on RPi-B however I have not tested it so let us know of the results.
