Indi wrapper for ASCOM

I have an online friend who I'm trying to help out with his troubling setup. He has a Mesu mount, Lodestar2 and microtouch autofocuser.
I don't think Indi can be used with that mount right? So is it just possible to just use the Indi wrapper for Windows to pass on commands from the ASCOM driver, to a Linux client inside? Sounds a bit too easy. :)

Probably yes. Try this: www.cloudmakers.eu/windi/ . Peter

Hi!

This was interesting. Is it possible to use Windi to wrap ASCOM drivers with Ekos/INDI in linux? If so, I could perhaps use the ASCOM Gemini driver, that has more features than the Indi-driver.
(Planned to have my daughter develop the Indi driver, but she got hersefl a boyfriend instead....)

Hi Magnus,

wINDI itself is plain .net application and maybe it can work with Mono runtime under Linux (I never tried it and have no experience with it), maybe ASCOM will work as well, but I don't believe that most of drivers can work this way (due to native parts inside). Maybe you can try Wine.
