Latest update from ZWO.
I have a feeling (hope) that this is the issue. I think the call from the INDI driver to the SDK to set the usb bandwidth is not actually working....

To get back working again, I've checked out the git repo from early November and built just the ASI driver.
My 120MM is working again now on my PC with the telescope connected too. I'm probably going to keep using this version of the ASI driver until ZWO fix the SDK or I buy a lodestar guider.....

I just got a ZWO ASI 120 MM-S and plan to use it as a guide camera. No issues with this camera and the ASI driver at all as far as I can tell. Downloads fast, takes great exposures, and good subframes. Should work great as a guide camera. I used it last night on my raspberry pi running KStars/Ekos along with the indiserver on the Pi, and running an indiserver on the Pi while using my Mac as the Indi client. Both setups caused no problems with this camera. I won't say that I had no problems last night, but this camera was not one of them, it performed admirably.

I also tested it yesterday in the house in various programs running natively on my Mac including PHD, indiserver, KStars/Ekos, and two free programs I had never heard of before, oaCapture and AstroLive. They all worked well with this camera.

Yes, its seems that only the non 'S' version (USB 2) version is affected.

Developments seemed to be looking up, so I ended up picking up the ASI120MM after all. I haven't had a chance to test it in real observation settings. So far testing it indoors while focused on a distant building, it hasn't gotten stuck while capturing stills, running the guiding module, streaming video, recording video. PHD2 seems ok, Linguider needed extra libraries and was forced to install an older one for Pi3. Linguider looping frames is pretty good, but occasionally one comes in garbled or flipped.
I just hooked it up out of the box, did not change the firmware to compatibility version, stock USB cable.
Pi3, lubuntu 16.04, USB power limit increased to 1.2 A. DSLR and USB memory stick all attached directly to Pi, without powered hub.

Yes!! Thanks. I've just tested briefly here during the daytime and its working again. I can also bin 2x2 which I couldnt do for a long time.

The latest RPi build is from december 23 according to the dates of the file in the archive (although the website says the buikd is from december 19....). That build is not working too great...

Yesterday things seemed to stabilize. Linguider went from nothing but garbled frames to what appeared to be quite stable. The only thing I did was flash to and back from compatibility firmware, maybe apt-get update/upgrade too.

I met a lot of problems with the ZWO 178MM and 120MM-S connected to the notepad. The exposure loop and finally fail. I am trying to find the origin of the problem with Yang Zhou from ZWO. I hope we will find what's wrong. I will exchange on our progress here. Today as suggested by Yang I used Indigo server. But the result remains the same as the one with INDI.
