Replied by Derek on topic Clestron mounts and hibernate

updated:
I wonder if its a timing issue. Maybe if there was a delay between sending (#y) and (V) to the mount?

Sorry I'm not much help here but I'm watching closely :)

It seems that wakeup returns a #, update code and try again.

That worked :)

Did one test parking, disconnect celestron_gps, power off - on and connect: OK
And one park, disconnect and stop indi, power off - on, start indi and connect: OK

Only "issue" is that the mount will display "Press Enter to wake from hibernation..." even when its awake.
It did that when i tested in mincom to. Even though the message is there its possible to enter the menu and star catalogues, and it doesn't matter when connecting remotely.

One more check mark for the Celestron AVX and indi_celestron_gps

Thanks knro for your work and dokeeffe for getting the commands from celestron. :)

I also tested the above without powering mount off and on, and it worked to

One more little thing, it seems your mount time is not recognized. Anyone has an updated list of celestron types? I have the following:
      celestronModels[1]  = "GPS Series";
      celestronModels[3]  = "i-Series";
      celestronModels[4]  = "i-Series SE";
      celestronModels[5]  = "CGE";
      celestronModels[6]  = "Advanced GT";
      celestronModels[7]  = "SLT";
      celestronModels[9]  = "CPC";
      celestronModels[10] = "GT";
      celestronModels[11] = "4/5 SE";
      celestronModels[12] = "6/8 SE";
      celestronModels[14] = "CGEM DX";

Yours is 20, so we're missing 15 to 20 at least.

Mine is not recognized as well. NexStar Evolution 8.
How to go about extracting the ID?

Ideally, Celestron should have this list! You can also get it when you run the driver, it will warn you that the model is unrecognized and give you the model number. I also contacted Michael over at NexStar Resource Site so he might be able to help us here!

Additionally the communication does not work. The port and alignment is ok. Checked with stellarium - works fine.

Are you sure you're using the latest driver? Do you have "Use Hibernate" in the options tab?

Driver from the PPA. Version 3.0 interface 5.
I can compile one from the repo if required.

If you don't have "Hibernate" property in the options tab then you might be running a slightly older version. So do you have that or not?
