Hi
I'm starting to use Siril as image stacker : free-astro.org/index.php?title=Siril
I noticed that when i open images taken with KStars, they are inverted against Kstars fits viewer.
Siril's developper told me that it' because fits header doesn't contain information about how to read them...
(no indication of lines order)
What do you think ?
Yes, this is a problem with FITS as there doesn't seem to be a standard keyword to indicate which way the image should be, which is why PixInsight for example has configurable orientation. Looking at the source it seems Siril unconditionally flips the image, which is also the default with PixInsight as it seems to be more common. INDI just dumps the data to file and most cameras have origo at top-left so the image ends up flipped in these programs.
Could it be possible to add a keyword, even non-standard, to write the type of data ?
bottom-top, ... or others ?
I believe that some softwares use this kind of keywords.
In this case I would add something in Siril.
