It would be very helpful to have the AutoStar switch on the main Guide page rather than down in a sub menu. When trying to get guiding started, I switch back an forth often from auto to manual and also need to know it's current state. One glance - one click is better than 3. The way it works on the Focus screen is great.

Also, the trash can icon seems a poor (non intuitive) choice for the re-calibrate function. There is plenty of room to divide the Guide button into a Guide button and a ReCalibrate button.

As always, thanks for all the work the developers are putting into this project.

I CONCUR. (I didn't know how to recalibrate (trash?) .

I wanted to click auto select and forgot where it was. (my memory is mush). at 61.
But I agree way to many clicks to do LOTS of things.

I also would like guiding TOT RMS on the (over all main page). The one that shows focus, frame count and guiding. It has RA and DEC error but not total so I find Im clicking the guide tab a lot to see total RMS.

To much clicking around tends to crash Kstars. So the less clicking I can do the better.
JAsem has been working with me on guiding. I'm using the AP experimental driver for the mount. I can't get pulse to work - it kicks the mount huge steps.
I just tested ST4 and had MUCH better results. (though I don't like another cable.

The guide rate started NICE <.5 but averaged out about 1.0. = (
MAYBE due to clouds - it was unsafe per my cloud watcher. I wanted to test it anyway. We'll see next time I try ST4 on a clear night.

SO COOL!

question. I wanted to try and fine tune guding (like I do with PHD) and wondered. (seemed logical?) that DEC being on the left complies to gain on the left? and RA on the right complies to gain and settings on the right side?
correct?

What I try to do is if I see OVER CORRECTING pulses. (that shoot to the opposite side / oscillating) and I want to decrease the pulse. I assumed this was done by reducing the gain? I waned the pulse to correct back to the center line and not kick the mount past the center line... then up past the center line, then down past the center line. You know what I mean. How to increase the correction kick and decrease the kick when the graph seems to show one of those adjustments is needed?

Also what is integral gain? vs proportional?

And as long as we're on this topic. Last night I tested again. After calibration or - when guiding is restarted. the star is not centered in the reticule. So the plots on the target are way out of center.
The only way I can get it to recenter is to STOP and then click a new star and then restart guiding. (Which I find myself doing all the time).

On this topic - another issue came to mind. Reading the manual it says 2x2 is really recommended. When ever I do this (lodestar XS) I get SLITS instead of stars!?!?! So I'm forced to go back to 1x1 with all the noise.

??? Can't guide on a slit.

This is great. Just what I wanted, and so quick! This is the second time that you've made a minor fix for me in less than a day. It's like having a personal programmer on my staff. Thank you again Jasem.
