I tried using the Auto Compute HFR for the FITS Viewer, so that I could monitor how/when focus deteriorate and a refocus is needed.
However, that's yet one more thing that slows down dowload times (on top of dithering, settling, etc.). And, unfortunately, the next exposure doesn't start until the current one is completely downloaded and displayed.
It would be nice if the HFR could be computed AFTER the image is fully downloaded and the next one is started. Exposures are typically several seconds long (or even minutes), so the software would have all the time to calculate the HFR and update the info in FITS Viewer, while the following image is being exposed.
It would be even nicer if there was a "manual compute HFR" in the FITS Viewer, so that I could choose when/how often to check for it - without increasing the time between the end of one capture and the start of the next.
