Not exactly on the edge of my seat, but thanks anyway. Its good to know that there will be one less challenge when I upgrade to SM1.6

I contacted Brostrend on this issue and unlike Tim I had a fast response and finished up with sharing my screen and letting their tech team sort it out. God knows what they did because my screen disappeared but I got an e-mail a few minutes later which said "The problem was a bad /etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list"
The dongle now works. Although I have no idea what their message means it may help someone on here that understands Linux better than me to sort out their problem.

Hi Tim
Did you get this problem sorted out? I, too have an acl3 dongle and just upgraded to SM1.5.9 and am having trouble executing the Brostrend command line. Did you contact Brostrend?

I have and RPI4 running Stellarmate. There is a powered usb hub and the only other usb plug powers a wifi antenna. I am able to monitor current draw from my  12v battery power supply and the RPI4 seems to pull about 0.3 amp. This rises about 150 milliamps when a frame is downloaded. Presumably the 5v supply is pulling double these numbers.

I have just received a CEM26 mount from Ioptron and it works fine with a connection from the hand controller to the RPI4. From reading this thread there seems to be a cable to connect the RPI4 direct to the mount to avoid having to use the hand controller. Can anyone confirm that this cable www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B077G717ZG/ref=...A24MRYRXOIQW54&psc=1 is similar to the one referred to in the thread. Thanks.

I am a bit late to the discussion but I read the thread a few days ago and decided to try the method of finding the optimum offset suggested by rbarberac.I set up on the bench an ASI533mc pro osc camera connected to a powered usb hub plugged into an rpi4 running Stellarmate 1.5.8. Communication between a Macbook air and the rpi was by wifi using external antennas on both the mac and the rpi4.First I connected to the Stellarmate by novnc. Using 30 sec exposure screenshots for a 100 offset and 0 offset.P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm }  are attached.As can be seen there is not a lot of movement along the x-axis of the fits viewer.This would indicate that the change in offset is not being applied to the camera although in the indi control panel for the camera it is shown to have changed. Due to my inexperience I suppose I have not set a parameter to a good value or not pressed a tab somewhere. Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong please?Meanwhile I thought about accessing the camera using Kstars on the Mac. Here are the results of a 100 and a 0 offset. In the screenshots attache the histogram can be clearly seen to move along the x-axis of the fits viewer, as expected, allowing optimisation of the offset.The other curious thing is that the frequency and intensity scales in the 2 cases,one using vnc and the other using Kstars on the Mac, are different. Shouldn't these be close in values? What am I missing?My thanks in advance for any suggestions.P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm }

Hi Mohamed
When the first frame time ends the FITS window doe not open and the rotating circle just spins. After a minute I aborted that's why I said download

could have just been long. Yesterday I got around to looking at the problem again and found that it is the path description to the usb stick that was wrong. I put the path as /media/stellarmate/123GBvolume. Then I realised that a name had been attached to the volume,CB7C-26F5.When I entered the the path as /media/stellarmate/CB7C-26F5 things worked and my 18Gb files download in about 2 secs.I have no idea where this name comes from, it must be already attached to the usb stick when I bought it.

I have tried using a 128gb usb stick as suggested above by mhammady. I have mounted the usb stick and created a directory. In the capture module I can see the directory which I choose for downloading the frames. However, the download of the first frame either does not happen or is very long. I aborted after 60 secs. Anyone got any ideas? The file format is fat32. Could this be the problem?

Thanks lead weight, astronerd and xeoix for your replies.Just to close the loop. In desperation I reloaded the stellarmate app before I read your replies and this allowed me to connect to stellarmate gadget. Using the mac I entered the ip address for the stellarmate followed by :6080/vnc.html and bingo I was in.

Hello
I have been using an rpi4 and stellarmate os in hotspot mode with my limited equipment successfully. I can take frames with the 2 cameras and control the temp. of the 533.
So I decided to explore VNC connection. Using the stellarmate app on a Samsung tablet I changed from hotspot to the house wifi and entered the password and confirmed that yes i did want to change. The app then tries to reconnect with the stellarmate gadget for a minute and 2 rotations of the blue line and then tells me it failed. I verified that yes the tablet had gone onto the house network. I tried anyway to contact the stellarmate gadget at stellarmate:8060 using Firefox, Chrome and safari, All failed, which makes me think that the gadget has not changed to the house wifi.
Is there someway to check this or am I missing something that is obvious to an experienced user? Any help would be appreciated.
