Controlling a Canon EOS 50D with Stellarmate OS running on a Raspberry Pi 4. Camera locks up during image sequence capture after a few images captured successfully (the exact number varies), and the sequence is aborted. Camera displays "Err 30 Shooting is not possible. Turn the power switch to <OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery." Power cycling as advised does clear the error. After restarting OKOS I am able to start a new sequence, only to have it abort again.
I have checked, camera battery is fully charged. The camera's mirror mechanism works fine in hand-held burst shooting mode, cycling rapidly for 50+ exposures without error.
Wow Jasem, thank you for the incredibly prompt response!
Th camera was set for auto power off after 30 minutes, but the failure occurred before that time had elapsed. Nevertheless I have disabled the auto power off and tried again. Sorry to say that didn't solve the problem.
It seems this error is a common problem online, I found one suggestion: "Working solution: Go to Menu and select the Clean Sensor Manually. It really worked for me!" others had to return the camera for replacement.
Nice (in a way) to know it's a common problem; at least it's not me. I did look online for similar posts before posting mine, but didn't find any.. I'll try the manual sensor cleaning thing, but as for returning the camera for replacement, I bought it used off eBay, so good luck with that.
Still working on this. Tried disabling automatic sensor cleaning also replaced the camera battery with a brand new, fully charged one. Problem persists. Here is an EKOS log file from an attempt to capture 20 Bias frames at ISO 800.
