Sorry - couldn't test.
Switching to beta channel and updating messed up my Stellarmate installation - KStars, PHP2 and some more features disappeared.
Actually, this happens almost always when I try to use the beta channel.
I must be doing something not right.

Restoring a good backup...

I was able to update to the beta channel after all...
-- location seems to update correctly now. Great! Thank you guys very much!
-- date/time still is not updated from the mount ([WARNING] Could not process mount date and time: :GC06/07/21T00:00:00)
But the date/time wasn't tackled at all as far as I understand. Not a big deal since it can be adjusted manually pretty easily.

Date/time issue was definetly fixed by my pull request as well.
And Jasem even fixed the location override via github.com/indilib/indi/commit/5e0045336...5adaf03dc8b3abca5be8 .

Seems like you're not getting the latest builds via beta channel.

Still can't test - tried to do the beta update one more time and lost INDI/KStars/etc again.
Will wait for a stable release.

Managed to properly update to beta - no warnings anymore!

Looks like it's working.
Before connecting to Ekos, I set the KStars' location to Aachen, Germany.
Once I connected to Ekos, the location/time changed to my current location.
Great - thank you!
Next Friday, I'll try it in the remote/dark place.

It's working correctly!
I took the RST-135 out to a dark place last Friday - it updated the location nicely.
I had some other issues (hand controller interfering with Ekos or something) which I still need to sort out but all in all it was a successful trip.
