PHD2 and byEOS have a looping capture mode so you can see what you're pointed at when you are doing setup/goto stuff. I keep PHD2 running in the background just for this purpose, but it can sometimes cause issues. I noticed there is something similar in the new polar alignment tool, but it would be really nice if there was a place where you could just go and turn this one in Ekos. Does anything like that exist?
Ok I got a chance to play with this. It is indeed good for framing, but it only lets me use this with the imaging camera and not the guide cam. Since I have a DSLR as my imaging camera it doesn't work as well as looping the guide came in PHD2 (the DSLR has a significant delay between shots).
It would be nice if there was just a looping mode added to the guiding section.
Ok I see. Since the 'Framing' button was under the Focus section I was trying to set the camera drop down there ('Focuser'), but that only gives the DSLR as an option. I assume because only it has the ability to focus.
If I change the drop down under CCD&Filter wheel than the Framing button does take images from the guide cam. The placement is just a bit confusing so it threw me off.
