Yes, modem manager being removed used to be a part of the script. I can go check that it is. It certainly should not have been installed during the script run, but some other program may have it as a dependency. I can check.
Nope, weird.. it was in my steps that I had listed in 2017, but it is missing from the first iteration of the automated script. I don't remember any reason for why I would have removed that step. I can put it back.
Correct, volumes should not mount automatically because that interferes with the ability to connect to a number of cameras. Please see this for details:
I seemed to be having the same issue with my Nikon Z7 on my Odroid-N2 (which I attributed to my permitting updates to the system until things broke). I re-flashed my Odroid-N2 system, did a system update and used Rob's AstroPi3.sh script to get things working again. The only addition for me was re-compiling the driver for my rtl8822bu wifi dongle (which I see now Rob also has a script for) and using NoMachine for remote desktop access (apparently there is no EGL/GPU Acceleration on X11 on the N2).
Thank you Rob.
I have just encountered the same issue. Everything was fine at first. But now when I try to run a profile from EKos, KStars crashes.
I have been configuring various things in the meantime so I am not sure when it broke.
