QHY Issues was created by Gary McKenzie

Hi,

5 days ago I had a magnificent night where the following equipment worked magnificently:
Skywatcher AZEQ6 via eqmod driver
Moonlight focuser
QHY5L11 guider
QHY 9S CFW2 camera wheel combination.

Last night though, I had a very frustrating night centred around issues with the QHY9.

Focusing would not work as the camera seemed to trigger some times, but no image would appear. The focusing routine would sit doing nothing. If I hit stop and then went to the CCD tab and tried to take an image nothing would happen. If I then disconnected the camera and reconnected, the camera would work fine. This happened repeatedly over the night until I abandoned the session and went to bed with no data.

I have previously had no issues like this over repeated sessions...... Can I activate any logs to assist with working out what has gone wrong? Nothing had changed apart from updates to EKOS/Indi that I perform regularly.

cheers
Gary

You don't need clear nights to test this, just test it at your desk.

Ran tests with logs enabled.

Take an image with ccd - OK

Focuser - capture image - OK

Auto focus - auto select star sub Frame suspend guiding
no stars found, hit stop

Back to ccd, hit preview, capture fails

Can then disconnect all devices, reconnect and everything works. Repeat the process and CCD fails again.

NB, the moonlight log shows it is offline, but the green light in the device shows connected.......??

logs attached.

cheers

Thanks for the test. There is an updated package now. Please repeat the same test and reattach the log. QHY also generates another log that you can find under /tmp, it's helpful to attach that as well.

same procedure followed with similar result.
Moonlight still shows offline in logs even though Moonlight tab shows green light.

This time, just before ccd failed to take an image , fits viewer popped up what looked like a subframe.

Logs attached

Looks like the PPA wasn't updated it. Please try in half an hour. It should be indi-qhy - 1.6+r2720~201611140916~ubuntu16.04.1
