Did you ever purge the Park position data, then write them fresh with the mount in the position you want it parked?

If you never purged the data, the mount may use these incorrect settings over and over again.

No, never purged them but get an error message when I want to purge them now - might be because I disabled the parking as suggested by Brian.

Okay... now I did all as suggested (disabled parking, made sure that KStars updates the date and location, set in the hand controller 3 degrees as limit and in Ekos the same (0.2deg HA) but still nnothing happens. INDI says it will start the flip and then it reports flip failed... I attach now all screenshots that I could think of. The settings in INDI, the mount screen from Ekos and images of the hand controller right next to to Kstars to show that they are synchronized. I´m pretty sure the problem sit´s in front of the screen here but would be happy if one of you can see anything thats odd?

Unselecting AutoParking would not prevent you from storing your Park position. I am not using that every day, but I do not have problems setting my Park position, then saving it.

Did you set the Park position first, then save it? The "light" next to park position in the site management tab should turn green when you set it. then you should be able to select the current park position and save it.

Oh I also never had problems to set a park position and store it - at least the light wents green then. The prolem was more that e.g. after polar alignment the mount started to slew to some position not even near the sored park position. So I rather keep the Autopark off. But can indeed store the home position as park position too - I just don´t trust it that this is used right. Do you think that has to do with the Meridian Flip issue?

Thanks for pointing that out. I had overlooked this.

It should be LESS than the limit set in the HC, because the HC will otherwise just stop and no flip will ever occur unless the behavior in the HC has been set to flip, and not to stop motion.

I have mine set to 2 DEGREES in Ekos, and the HC to 3 degrees, so Ekos will always trigger the Flip before the mount.

But that should be unrelated of the Parking problem Nico has.

Thanks for all the tips again but unfortunately no change. The parking thing still stays an enigma to me. I now first purged the data, then set the current position as park position (same as the home position), then write data. When I slew the mount to somewhere and say then "go to home" in the INDI control panel it does it as assumed - nicely goes back to the set home position. So, in theory it should be the same as the park position. But when I press the park button it starts to slew somewhere else. I never let it finish this slew because I have had it once that it reached the limits and I just coud stop it from running too far.

The meridian flip still does not work - no matter what HA I set in Ekos. Still only a minor move and the failed message. Also I tried to set in the hand controller the behavior at Meridian to Stop instead of automatic flip but that doesn´t matter either. The command to flip seems to come from Ekos as the mount makes a micro-move but I have the feeling something seems to avoid the flip.

Cheers, Nico
