I'm using the lates Mac OSX nightly build, and I still don't have this issue. It starts up exactly where I left it.

Hi Thomas

Inspecting your loge file from www.indilib.org/forum/focusers-filter-wh...os-starts.html#93544 once again, the following lines have catched my eye:
org.kde.kstars.indi] - LX200 10micron : "[INFO] Unattended Flip from config and mount are disabled "
org.kde.kstars.indi] - LX200 10micron : "[INFO] Gstat initialized at 5 "
org.kde.kstars.indi] - LX200 10micron : "[INFO] Mount is parked. "
org.kde.kstars.ekos.align] - Target coordinates updated to JNow RA: "23h 56m 00s" DE: " 180° 00' 00\""
org.kde.kstars.indi] - WatchDog : "[INFO] Mount is Parked "
They appear immediately before the rotation to 0° is activated.

There are very strange peculiarities:
1. The mount is not yet unparked and the target coordinates are updated.
2. These target coordinates have a very strange declination of 180°!

It seems as if there was a strange "slew" before the mount is updated to the observer location and before it is unparked. Actually this is not possible, isn't it? I suspect this could be the reason for the weird rotation, but I have no clue, why this happens.

Perhaps a more detailed debug log (with align) could help? And could you just try to use the Nitecrawler together with telescope simulator to see what happens?

Here is a log file with debug on for rotator, focus, and alignment.

Thanks Thomas, I do see the issue but not sure why it is triggered. Can we arrange a remote session as I think this would be quicker. Please file a ticket with StellarMate support.

Will do. FYI although I have a Stellarmate license and use it on my rPi on this setup it is running on a mini pc with Ubuntu…. Good news is it is 100% reproducible at any time of day or night

Hi Thomas

Are there any new insights already?

If not, could you just try to replace the '10micron' with 'Telescope Simulator' and see how the 'Nitecrawler' reacts? This way we can exclude/include the mount as a source of the problem.

Getting remote access for Jasem sorted out. I did confirm that if I switch to telescope simulator as you suggest it does not rotate. It seems to be some sort of interaction with the mount that is triggering it.

I spoke too soon. It no longer rotates to 0 on startup. It still happens randomly. Last night while I was parked and capturing dark frames for example:

Is there any way to tell it not to move the rotator at all?

Can you attach your capture sequence file (.esq)?

Here you go - had to add .txt extension to permit upload

@Jasem:
From what I've learned about blocking signals, perhaps "updateRotator()" should block them too?

EDIT: Ok, I just noticed, that you merged it already!!:cheer: Thanks!
