Cannot update KStars for Windows was created by maxthebuilder

Hello,
Installed KStars for Windows for the first time back in August 2018. Version 2.9.X
Shortly after I reinstalled it once (over previous installation which started to have issues).
After that I was not able to install any new builds.
Today I tried to install (again over existing installation) v. 3.0.0 - same story - the system gives me a dialog box saying:
Access to the path is denied. Select "Yes" to kill processes, "No" to continue, "Cancel" to quit.
Yes - doesn't help.
No - same dialog box.
If I try to uninstall - same dialog/result.
If I delete the install folder would I lose my configs?
Does anyone know?
Thanks!

Try to use the Windows task manager to kill any kstars process that is open, or dbus-server or something like that. Then try again.

Solved:
Installed into a different/non-default directory.
Deleted old/default directory
Renamed the new install to the default name.
