Find attached what needs to be done before the dmg creation.


This will get a working kstars as in you can start the Indi but will crash on take picture (work in progress).

CAUTION:
I have only amended the libs for two Indi_simulator as in CCD and Telescope.
Must find a way to alter a bunch of libs at the same time....

Do you what the WCS installed?
I got the CCD tab, click on preview.

try this:
brew list | grep wcs

for me it shows wcslib - if you don't see that try
brew install homebrew/science/wcslib

As I have not included Astrometry nor WCS, I have disabled it in kstars but it still crashes with the same error:

got that installed yet:

So it's not the WCS, then maybe if that one ^^ ?
I know that the dmg file worked fine on my last install of the MBA (dev machine) but not on the MBP.

I've just installed my latest dmg on the MBA, and I am able to take a pic on the CCD sim..... mmmmm annoying !!!!!!!

I thought that we decided those would be outside of the path because they added like 300mb to the size.

I don't have it set up either and it doesn't crash for that here.

Lacking GSC should not cause kstars to crash, nor the ccd simulator since it will just generate a picture that looks like a dark if there is no gsc installed.

And yes, we had decided that installing gsc should be a separate step. Basically to get gsc, you have to follow the instructions from before and copy the gsc folder to your data folder in ~/Library/Application support/kstars

For gsc, I am thinking it might be good to make that either a zip file they can download or maybe a "download new stuff" item

The problem with testing the dmg file on your dev laptop is that lots of libs are in /usr/local etc... but none of that in a non dev laptop like I have access to.
Are you guys testing the new dmg on a clean laptop?

I haven't tried a DMG, waiting on the definitive otool instructions.

I have posted something already about otool and install_name. have you seen it?
I know it's only for two simulators, but it's decent enough to test kstars really.
