Images work for me.
Have you tried restarting kstars after installing?
I will see how I can remove the need to restart...

Also, beware of the knewstuff cache

rm -r ~/.local/share/knewstuff3/ & rm -r ~/.cache/kstars/

you should download openngc v7

ok i found the issue with the inline images only showing after a restart... patch incoming

You can try and see if your issues are resolved now after
rm -r ~/.local/share/knewstuff3/ & rm -r ~/.cache/kstars/
to clean the cache. (or wait a few hours...).

Knewstuff is the library that provides the download dialog.
Apparently KStars is the only program that uses it in this particular way so that we suddenly discover a whole family of bugs.

OK... I updated to Stellarmate 1.5.9 Stable and all is good now!
