Oh... I just manually downloaded a couple of catalogs from protagon.space/catalogs/pages/catalogs.html and imported to KStars - that didn't make any difference.
Let me try the latest nightly...

Just tried the latest nightly build of Windows client - still cannot search/find M45
Some weird things are going on with catalog downloads and the catalog manager - catalogs sometimes install, sometimes disappear..
The new system is still broken : (

I guess, some changes are still propagating.
Sharpless catalog now searches correctly on Sh2 *** short name.

Problem:
Right now I have a completely empty Catalog Manager.
-- download/install NGC IC (Steinicke). Installed. Shows up in the Manager.
-- download/install Open NGC. After this the Manager gets emptied.
it wasn't like this yesterday.

Just installed the latest Windows KStars (July 2, 2021).
If I search for M 45 - the search doesn't show it - it shows IRIDIUM 45 only.
But. If press <enter> it goes to M 45.
No image though...
I installed Abell catalog - it's not showing up in the Manager.
Something is really not right there..

It is a bug in knewstuff.

There is a workaround: invent.kde.org/vboettcher/kstars-catalog...a357b861d3b650f2f5de

Please manually download the catalog from the docs... they are always the latest ci build. Jasem has not updated the knewstuff yet...
Upon pressing enter you go to m45 because it is being looked up on the internet and added to your user catalog.
