Have you tried connecting the focuser to a windows PC, run the celestron calibration utility to retrain the focuser limits.

When you reconnect it to the Stellarmate, it will reread the settings from the focuser

I have used the focuser for basic setting presets and move in and out. Seems to be working fine
No chance to test it in a real situation, the weather has not behaved, but from initial playing it seems to work fine.

One Cosmetic item, In the Indi Control panel for the focuser, under the Main Control tab, the text on the left specifically the Relative Position and absolute position need to be fully visible. Presently they part of the text even if you resize the window.

It would be nice if the min and max positions could be populated on the screen which the focuser learns when the calibration tool from Celestron is run and then saved to the focuser by the tool

Is this driver working now. Will it be incorporated into an update for Stellarmate and if so do we know when? If not where can we get an copy and instructions on how to incorporate it into the Stellarmate.

Thanks for all the hard work guys, you rock

I wont argue with you on that point but it only applies to some of the users.

Many of us are in astronomy clubs who travel alot or do alot of outreach events and using GPS makes our tracking more accurate.

If I had an observatory, I would agree with you but my club does so much travel and outreach, GPS updates make life easier on those of us not tied to one or two locations.

I have a Garmin USB GPS. It has been seen by Stellarmate Web manager and it has been assigned a serial port of /dev/gps. The GPSD driver is loaded and the GPSD file is reflecting the device info.

My issue is that it is not been seen by anything else. The Indi Control Panel connects but sits at GPS fix is in progress.

Any suggestions to help me get this working??

Thanks

Liam

I can give remote access to my Stellarmate with attached focusor so you can develop the driver and test it. Just tell me what ports you need open and give me an email address to send the connection details to
